FAQ
Are you a male or female therapist?
Male
What kind of service can I expect?
You’ll get a quality and respectful massage, similar to one you’d get on a standard 5* Hotel SPA.
Note: There are no “extras” available.
Do I have to book the massage or can I just walk in?
Booking is required.
This is to avoid you having to wait, or being disturbed during a treatment. I also do work for hotels and in-house. So this keeps things organized.
Whats the best way to do a booking?
Book online if you can. It’s faster and easier to chose the best time for you.
You can also phone, send a message by Whatsapp, email or use the contact form.
I may be working at the time, but I’ll answer you as soon as I can.
What type of payments do you accept?
I only accept cash(euros), payments by QR Code, MBWay, or bank transfer.
I’m working to get more payment methods available. I’m sorry for any inconvenience.
What languages do you speak?
In a level of 1 to 5,
I understand (5) and speak (4) English,
(5)(3) Spanish,
(3)(1) French,
(2)(1) German,
, Portuguese is my native language.
Do I have to take my clothes off?
Since this is an oil massage, some undressing is necessary.
You will be draped to protect your privacy, with towels or a sheet.
You can undress fully, use the disposable underwear made available to you, use your own underwear, or a bikini.
Whatever feels comfortable to you works best.
Wearing thin clothes is also possible, but in that case, no oil will be used, the techniques applied, and the time for the massage, will be more limited.
What happens if I’m late to an appointment?
If the next time slot is free, we can work things out. But if there’s another appointment right after, there is little I can do. Your massage time will have to be reduced.
Is there a shower I can use?
Not at this time. Sorry
Is there a washroom/restroom/WC?
Yes.
Is there something I should do before the massage?
Yes.
You should go to the restroom to avoid discomfort during the treatment. Specially if the massage lasts one hour or more.
Avoid any alcohol, or eating to much food just before the massage.
Leave your necklaces at home. If your massage includes the neck, you will have to take them off. And it’s one less thing to do.
It’s better to wear comfortable clothes, that you can take off, and put on easily.
Be careful not get sunburns before you come to your session.
Get to your appointment a few minutes earlier if you can.
Is there something I should do during the massage?
Yes.
Communication is important if something is disturbing you.
If you find the pressure is too strong, or too light,
you’re cold, or feel too hot,
If you feel your needs are not being met,
,your personal space feels small,
or if you have any type of discomfort, please speak out.
The goal is for you to have a great experience.
One other thing you can do during the massage, is to focus on your breathing and nothing else (as much as you can).
It’s one of the meditation techniques, and allows you to get the most of the massage.
Leave your worries on the other side of the door.
Is there something I should do after the massage?
Yes.
If your going to drive, be extra careful. It’s great to be in the Zen zone, but you should be alert when your driving. Take a few minutes to get back to Earth.
Drink plenty of water or tea. This will help release the toxins from your body.
If you had a anti-cellulite, or modeling massage, you should do some kind of exercise after the massage. Even if it’s just a long walk. This will help burn the fat that was released during the massage. The results will be much better and quicker. Massage gets the fat out of the cells, but it’s up to you to burn it. Otherwise it will just get back in.
How much time will I use?
Add about 10-15 minutes to your massage time.
You have to fill out an intake form, undress, dress, maybe relax for a few more minutes, and have a glass of water or tea. That all takes a bit of time.
Do you have a waiting room?
Yes. There is a waiting room right outside the office door.
Please don’t knock or ring the door bell.
The office door will be open when I’m ready for you.
How long should the massage be?
On average, for the best experience, a full body massage should be at least 75 min. Go for 90 min if you feel your body needs more attention on a specific area.
In massages with a more therapeutic approach, much of the work has to be done slowly, hence, it takes up more time.
2 hour massages are mainly for therapeutic, sports, or combined therapeutic and relaxation massages. If you have a lot of back and hip issues, that time will go in a flash. But otherwise a shorter duration will suffice.
For feet, arms or head/neck/shoulder massage, 30 min.
For the back and other localized massages, 45 min is recommended. If you’re in a lot of muscle pain, go for 60 min.
If you feel muscle tension on the hips, or sciatic pain (if related to muscles). For example, from sitting at work for to long, or traveling, doing to much uphill walking, or running. Working in this area to ease the pain, or regain range of motion, will take about 20 min to 40 min, depending on how bad it is. So please take this in consideration when choosing the duration of full body massage.
Can I rest for a few minutes on the massage table after it’s over?
If everything starts on time, yes. You can have some minutes of Zen time.
I will inform if, for some unplanned reason, that’s not possible.
What kind of work do you usually do?
For the typical massage, I combine therapy and relaxation. It’s usually more therapeutic on the back and on the rest of the body it depends on the duration of the massage, and what I find before and during the treatment.
I’m freestyle, so I use different techniques, like deep tissue, trigger point, swedish, hawaiian techniques, and others I found to be effective in my work.
Whats the best way to get to your studio?
Metro is a good way to get here. It’s a two minute walk from the Trindade Metro Station. And free of extra parking fees, or worries.
There are also many bus stops close by (Bus #200,#202,#304,#600,#703,#904,#905,#201,#208,#400,#501,#901#906). You can check timetables here.
If you use your car, there are is also paid parking nearby, right beside the building, or in a car park ( less then 3 min walk ).
Do you have couple massages?
Since there is only one therapist (me), the two treatments would have to be one after the other. Width about 15 min between them, to clean up and get things ready.
I have a crick in the neck. Can massage help?
Yes. And, usually, you can feel a big improvement with just one session.
Do you do reflexology?
Not at this time.
